The most modern pig farm in Serbia opened
On Sunday, in Ljukovo at Indjija, the minister of trade, Zeljko Sertic, officially opened the most modern domestic pig farm, with the capacity of 50.000 cattle per year where Knez agrar company poured a total of six million euros in its construction.
The Government of Serbia is doing everything to set free and support private sector and generate the best conditions so that there would be as many farms as possible as this one would is in our country, Sertic said after touring the farm facility which currently has 11.000 pigs.
Outlining it is very important that we have as many these facilities as possible, which can develop in technological sense as ell meat production process in Serbia, Sertic added that it is very important to increase production from current 3,4 million pigs to significantly higher level so that we could, first of all, satisfy domestic needs and generate exporting terms.
A founder and an owner of "Knez agrar", Srdjan Knezevic, mentioned the farm has facilities on five hectares and another 18 ha of cultivable land.
He added that, at the farm of Knez agrar company, another food mixer with the capacity of 150 tons a day, operate as well as new silos with the capacity of 35.000 tons. Pig farm in Ljukovo will currently work for domestic market and as Knezevic said, it is expected it could soon launch its capacities at the Russian market as well.
