Ergomade, a furniture maker from Merosina, has asked for 8,500 square meters of building land in the industrial zone Sever in Nis, where they plan to build a new production facility with a surface area of about 3,500 square meters.

The City Council of Nis launched an initiative on 2 February 2016 to have a Feasibility Study prepared for the alienation of a City-owned building land in the Nis cadastral municipality Crveni Krst.

If the Feasibility Study shows that the construction of new facility would improve local economic development, Ergomade could obtain the building land free of charge.

This company, which produces office and school furniture, promised in a letter of intent to hire 45 workers within three years after the completion of its production facility in Nis.

According to the letter, the estimated value of this investment is between 1 and 1.5 million euro.

Ergomade was established in 2004 and currently employs 41 workers in Mramorsko Brdo. The entire production is exported, mainly to Scandinavian countries.

A conclusion to launch the initiative for the preparation of Feasibility Study is published on the official website of the City of Nis.
