Aleksandar Antic told the press that there was great interest of the Serbian side in having projects agreed with EDF which are related to the upgrade of the transfer and distribution network.
– When it comes to hydroenergy, EDF is the company number one in the world by numerous parameters and we are ready to discuss this topic with them and look into the unused hydro-potential and the possibility of the construction of hydroenergy facilities on our waterways together with them – Antic said.
He added that it was agreed at the meeting, which was attended by the directors of EPS, Milorad Grcic, and Elektromreze Srbije (EMS), Jelena Matejic, to intensify the cooperation, primarily that of expert teams which would continue working intensively, and said that the first next step in the cooperation was for an expert team from Serbia to visit France and EDF.
The minister reminded that he had signed an agreement with Ambassador of France Frederic Mondoloni on January 18 defining priorities in future cooperation in energy primarily and added that a visit of EDF had been agreed at the time as well.
Antic pointed out that EDF was one of the most important European and global energy companies, with over 160,000 employees, and that it was one of the global leaders in nearly all key energy activities.
Mondoloni said that France was looking to help Serbia in its economic development and that French companies and business people wanted to establish cooperation with their colleagues from Serbia to the benefit of both French and Serbian companies.
– In that sense, the delegation of EDF was here in order to look into the ways of cooperation with companies from the energy sector in Serbia in all fields – Mondoloni added.
