First phase of reconstruction of Rehabilitation Center Pribojska Banja completed

After a break of over six years, medical workers should return to the building of the Rehabilitation Center Pribojska Banja.

The plan is for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the General Hospital in Priboj, consisting of three medical doctors, 15 physical therapists and six nurses to move in to the first floor of the reconstructed building. The second floor will feature equipped apartments, with a capacity of 25 beds, which will be leased by the Eparchy of Mileseva for commercial purposes. A boiler room is being built in the facility's basement.

These works are being carried out under the contract signed three years ago between the Eparchy of Mileseva, the Monastery of Saint Nicholas in Pribojska Banja, the Municipality of Priboj and the Medical Center of Uzice.

Under the contract, the Eparchy is to lease the first floor of the Rehabilitation Center to the Medical Center of Uzice for 10 years without a fee. The Municipality of Priboj has obliged to use its healthcare budget to equip the first floor of the Rehabilitation Center, in line with the needs of the Medical Center.

All the construction works are close to being completed. After the medical workers move in and resume activities, the development of this medical center will continue, until the Rehabilitation Center Pribojska Banka is brought back to its full functionality.

The provision of healthcare services in this facility stopped in 2013, when the Eparchy of Mileseva decided to start renovating the building it had been granted ownership of by court, in the process of returning property to churches and religious communities.
