Momirovic: Memorandum on Free Trade of Serbia and China on Wednesday

The memorandum of understanding which marks the formal beginning of the work on the free trade agreement between Serbia and China will be signed on Wednesday, April 12, announced the minister of domestic and foreign trade of Serbia, Tomislav Momirovic.

– Serbia is export-oriented toward the Chinese market, which will be additionally incited by the signing of the memorandum of understanding – Momirovic said.

Momirovic, who is on a visit to Beijing, specified that the memorandum would be signed following the meeting with the minister of commerce of China, Wang Wentao, as announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.

Today, the minister talked to the vice minister of foreign affairs of China, Deng Li, whom he informed of the results which Chinese companies realized in the Serbian market.


He emphasized that it mostly pertained to Zijin and HBIS, which, as he said, have changed the Serbian economy and which contribute considerably to the total GDP of Serbia. He also mentioned the Chinese construction companies which built highways and fast railroads together with Serbian companies.
