First year at the newly opened Transfera logistics center
In just nine months, starting in June 2021, Transfera realized its most ambitious business venture, the construction of the first logistics center (TLC1), part of a wider project to create a Transfera logistics park (TLP) in the industrial zone in Novi Banovci, near Belgrade. The Transfera logistics center covers a total area of 53,000 m², while the area of the facility itself is 30,000 m², which makes it one of the largest facilities of this type in Serbia and the region.

A commitment to innovation and improvement
Digitization of processes and operations, which has taken precedence in all aspects of business, has made it necessary to react quickly, but also anticipate changes in the industry. For this very reason, TLC1 is adapted to the highest FM global standards and equipped with the most sophisticated technology for warehouse management system (WMS), and the use of renewable energy sources has been set as one of the priorities. The total area of the terminal is fully controlled by the use of Yard management system (YMS) and Dock management system (DMS) software solutions. In addition, in order to modernize and simplify processes within a large system such as Transfera, during the previous year optimization and merging of customer support software (CS) and transport organization (TMS) was carried out into a single solution whose architecture covers all operations and guarantees maximum security information - Transport management system (TMS).
In parallel with the opening of the logistics center, Transfera worked on optimizing customs processes and introducing benefits for its clients, and the presence of customs authorities in TLC1 from September 2022 brings significant advantages when it comes to the processes of accommodation and customs clearance of shipments. In this way, the average customs clearance time of shipments was reduced in relation to the standards of the Serbian market, and therefore the transit time of delivery to clients.

Business on a global level
The developed logistics network, which through the network of HUBs covers countries throughout Europe, has continued its growth at the global level. Since last year, Transfera also has a representative office in Shanghai, in the People`s Republic of China, which provides a completely new dimension to the business and a strong global position for further development. The fact that Transfera is recognized as a valuable partner for Chinese investors is best illustrated by the fact that during the recent two-month visit, the company`s delegation held more than 50 meetings in 15 cities across the PR China. The discussions on the next joint steps, new projects and Transfera`s logistical support strengthened partnership relations, but also provided an opportunity for new collaborations.
Growth defined by sustainable business principles
In addition to its core business, Transfera also integrates solving the challenges of sustainable development, as well as social and environmental responsibility, into its strategic goals. Caring for the environment is reflected in the transformation of daily business, which is related to the application of ecological solutions in logistics.
Precisely because of this, at the beginning of April last year, Transfera included a new service in its portfolio of services, a regular container train that runs on the Belgrade-Rijeka-Belgrade route, which represents a significant increase in capacity while respecting environmental standards. Also, at this year`s Munich logistics fair, the cooperation between Transfere and Rail Cargo Group Austria, a member of the OBB Group and one of the leading companies whose core business is the organization of rail transport, was made official. By introducing new Transfera services in the field of intermodal transport, the two companies will jointly contribute significantly to the implementation of the green transport concept in Serbia and the region.
