The City of Kragujevac no longer has locations which it can offer to investors which want to build and open new factories, stated the deputy mayor, Dejan Ruzic.

– Unfortunately, we have a real problem. A really big problem of ours is that we have no more locations – said Ruzic, who, until recently, was the head of the Administration for Development and Investments and was involved, as he says, in nearly all the negotiations with the potential investors.

Addressing the members of the City Assembly of Kragujevac at the session within the discussion about the new budget, he said that there were efforts to secure new locations.

– The idea is to build the industrial zone Cvetojevac after the completion of the construction of the north ring road, but even before that, we have a plan for solving the problem in the near future – said Ruzic.

He said that the amending of the Detailed Regulation Plan of Feniks was being done at that moment, whereby the location of the former industrial zone with over 18 hectares was being freed in order to become a location which could be put up for sale to interested investors which build residential-office complexes.

– I can emphasize with pride that we have managed to resolve the property status of Metino Brdo, where we have a huge parcel which is fully owned by the city since several months ago, so that’s a potential investment location which can be interesting to investors as well – said Ruzic.

He added that the city had some other smaller locations, but that there was no location for potential investors which would build factories, which, according to him, “is the biggest problem of the City of Kragujevac.”
