First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali signed a contract yesterday with representatives of the French Treasury, thanks to which the management of the electricity distribution network in the Republic of Serbia will be improved.

The Government of France granted the Government of Serbia financial resources for the introduction of general automation of power distribution network management, as well as for joint assistance in the management and implementation of this project, with the participation of Elektrodistribucija Srbije, according to the website of the ministry.

Mali also signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Serbia and the consortium consisting of Suez International SAS and Vinci Construction Grands Projets regarding the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant in Veliko Selo.

Previously, a meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Mali with the delegation of the French business association MEDEF was held in the Palace of Serbia, which was also attended by the Ambassador of France to Serbia, Pierre Cauchard.

Mali emphasized that Serbia is satisfied with the cooperation with French companies, with which it is implementing many important projects, such as the construction of the subway in Belgrade and the waste processing plant in Vinča, and they are also partners at the Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla.

– We are satisfied with the cooperation with the French companies, but it is important to go further and find new projects. We should keep up with new technologies and I am glad to hear that many French are interested in investing in this field – the minister said.
