The public discussion about the draft Detailed Regulation Plan for the forming of three new residential settlements on the Trujkanov Potok stretch near Bor, meant primarily for the moving of the residents of the rural communities jeopardized by the mining activities, was completed at the end of June.

According to the mayor of Bor, Aleksandar Milikic, the land in these areas partly belongs to the state, partly to the city, and partly, it is privately owned. He emphasizes that, when the plan for these settlements is adopted, private land will not be taken away and that, instead, the buyout of the land will be done.

– We have reached the point where the plan for the new settlements has to be adopted. They will be like Bor 2 or Banjsko Polje. There will be three settlements which will have the capacity to, at one point, depending on the demands of our fellow citizens, be able to look like Slovenian villages, with the full infrastructure, waterworks, sewer, electricity, heating and a gas pipeline, which is planned to be introduced in Bor in the next four years. In the part where they are planned, there is state, city and private land. The land taken will be financially compensated to each of our fellow citizens, and for a much larger sum of money than is currently the case. The price of a hectare of land in Sarbanovac ranged between two and three thousand euros for ten years. It currently ranges between 25,000 and 30,000 euros for agricultural land – points out Milikic.

As he adds, when the plan with the look of the settlements is adopted, the first thing to be done is to convert the land from agricultural into urban building land.

– When we adopt the plan and the expropriation project, we will do it only where we have to, and I believe that we will not have to do it anywhere, because we will agree with the owners. I can’t guarantee now, but the estimate is that, in that case, the price of a hectare will range between 100,000 and 150,000 euros – says Milikic.

The plan is to have 800 agricultural and 100 non-agricultural properties in three zones in the areas of the villages of Brestovac, Sarbanovac and Zlot 4. In addition to the full infrastructure, the plan is to also build community centers, ethno parks, religious buildings and to move the graveyard. In this space, according to the draft Detailed Regulation Plan, mining explorations and exploitation will be banned.
