InterContinental returning to Serbia – Delta Holding and IHG sign agreement on construction of luxury hotel with five stars in Belgrade

Delta Holding and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts Group (IHG) have signed an agreement marking the return of the InterContinental brand to Serbia official. This strategically important agreement announces the construction of a luxury hotel with five stars in the heart of Belgrade.

The signing ceremony, held in Belgrade, was attended by the members of the boards of directors of Delta Holding and IHG for Europe. This cooperation is a significant step toward the strengthening of the position of Belgrade as a leading tourism destination in the region, whereas the return of the InterContinental brand is welcomed with big expectations, the press release says.

– As a successful partner in Ljubljana, we are proudly announcing the construction of a luxury hotel with five stars in Belgrade as well, whose investment of EUR 100 million will additionally strengthen the infrastructure of the city. Our ambition is for this prestigious hotel to open its door by the end of 2026 ahead of EXPO 2027 – stated Andrej Sovrovic, a member of the Executive Board of Delta Holding and the general manager of the hotel group.



On this occasion, Karin Sheppard, the senior vice-president and the managing director of IHG Hotels & Resorts Group for Europe, expressed her satisfaction that the InterContinental brand was returning to Belgrade and pointed out:

– The strategic cooperation with Delta Holding is of extreme importance for our group and is a confirmation of the mutual dedication to improving luxury hospitality in this part of Europe. Belgrade, with its rich cultural legacy and dynamic economy, is an ideal destination for a highest-category InterContinental hotel.

Angelina Nekic, the vice-president of Delta Holding, and the CEO of Delta Real Estate, added that the hotel InterContinental was the crown jewel of the Delta District complex:

– This project is a continuation of an investment cycle with a total value of EUR 250 million. The combination of a hotel with 5 stars and residential and business apartments will set new standards in the segment of luxury real estate.
