Air Serbia presents new plane bearing colors and marks of EXPO 2027

At the Nikola Tesla Airport, the Airbus A330-200 aircraft bearing the colors and marks of the specialized exhibition EXPO 2027 has been presented.

The minister of finance of Serbia, Sinisa Mali, announced that the new plane would fly to both China and the West.

– It is a wide-body plane, with 262 seats, which will be used for flights to both New York and Chicago and Tianjin and Guangzhou in China – Mali explained and added that Air Serbia was the fastest growing airline company in the region and that, by the end of 2024, it would get another three new planes, so its fleet would have 29 planes.

He pointed out that, since the beginning of the reorganization of the company in 2013, Air Serbia had transported more than 30 million passengers, and that, in 2024 alone, until the end of August, it had transported three million passengers.

– Some opinions say that there are three symbols of a country’s sovereignty, which are the anthem, the flag and a strong national airline company. Serbia has all those today – pointed out Mali.

He noted that Air Serbia had started flying to Guangzhou in China only several days before and that, by the end of 2024, it would also introduce a route to Shanghai.

– We expect more than three million visitors at EXPO 2027 and to present our country in the right way – he emphasized.

The CEO of Air Serbia, Jiri Marek, stated that, ahead of the upcoming EXPO 2027, the company had wanted to contribute to the promotion of that important event and that it had therefore decided for its third wide-body plane to get a visual identity matching that exhibition.
