Lidl Distribution Center, One of the Biggest in the Balkans, to be Built in Lapovo

A distribution center for Lidl KD of 60,000 m2, on a land of 40 hectares, is being built in Lapovo, announced the president of the Municipality of Lapovo, Boban Milicic.

– We are building a logistics-distribution center, which is expected to be one of the biggest in the Balkans – Milicic told the press in Kragujevac.

According to him, that is currently the biggest investor in the municipality of Lapovo, which “dramatically boosts the economy”, in addition to Kronospan and Zeleznica, where the most residents of Lapovo are employed.

He said that four industrial zones had been formed along the highway near Lapovo and that the state had invested EUR 14 million in the railway structure and connecting with Kragujevac.

– We are preparing the Detailed Regulation Plan for the highway connection. According to the plan and the agreement with the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure, we insist on this connection being named “Lapovo” in the future, instead of its current name, “Batocina-Kragujevac” – Milicic said.

He also said that, in 2020, the export of the biggest companies in the municipality of Lapovo had increased by 5-10%. Kronospan, a producer of particleboard panels, is the leader, and the company didn’t lay off workers during the epidemic, but employed new ones instead.
