The desire to use every square meter of space has led to a trend in interior design in recent years for the kitchen, dining room and living room to be in an open space, with no doors separating them. Whether you`re following a trend or the size of your apartment dictates such a layout, you may sometimes want to visually separate the kitchen and dining room from the living room. In that case, there are several solutions at your disposal.

Sliding doors - An excellent solution if you like open space, but at the same time you don`t want to sacrifice privacy, are doors that you open and close as needed. If you choose a glass door, you`ll also get a bonus light.

Curtain - It won`t help you when it comes to smells, but it will if you want some privacy. Curtains are the easiest and cheapest way to separate two areas. Depending on the effect you want to achieve, select transparent or opaque fabrics. Like the door, you can tuck it away if needed by tying it with a ribbon, giving it an elegant look.

Shelf - If you want a more permanent solution, without it being a partition wall, shelves that go to the top of the ceiling are an ideal option. They can be open or closed, and you can decorate them with books, vases, photos, dishes. If you still want to have a view of the kitchen, choose lower dressers or cabinets.
